Guide to Medicare Part D: Where Do I Go For Help With Part D?

  • The first place to start is with the Medicare website. You can use the Medicare Prescription Drug Plans page to compare the benefits of different plans or do a personalized plan search to find the best plan for you.
  • Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227), or TTY: 1-877-486-2048 (for the hearing impaired).
  • You can also contact the Legal HelpLine for Older Kentuckians at 1-800-200-3633.

For assistance with choosing a Part D plan:

  • Use the Medicare website to find a prescription drug plan or do a personalized plan search to find the best plan for you.

  • You may also be able to receive help at your local senior citizens center.

For information about qualifying or applying for extra help paying your Part D costs:

  • Call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213, or
  • Apply on-line, or
  • Call the Legal HelpLine for Older Kentuckians at 1-800-200-3633, or
  • Visit your local Social Security Administration office in person.
