How to Request a Reasonable Accommodation
The U. S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development are jointly responsible for enforcing the federal Fair Housing Act. According to the HUD website, The Act specifies that housing providers may not refuse "to make reasonable accommodations in rules, policies, practices, or services when such accommodations may be necessary to afford a person with a disability the equal opportunity to use and enjoy a dwelling."
